Back in December, Doug mastered an album for a young, up and coming artist by the name of Lee DeWyze. Skip forward a couple months and low and behold, Lee is in the top ten finalists on American Idol this season. Everyone here at Gravity wishes him the best on the show and hopes he takes it all the way! You can see Lee on American Idol on Fox Tuesdays at 7:00 and Wednesdays at 8:00.

It’s been a minute since we’ve made an update. We’ve been slammed over at Gravity as of late. Doug has been cranking it out with the mastering. Recent artists include Louise Kelly, Humboldt Lagoon, Model Stranger, Perth Elliot, and Verbow – and that’s just in the last two weeks!
Things are busy here and time slots fill up fast, so book your mastering session in advance.
Doug just wrapped up mastering for Aiden’s new live album and DVD, recorded at the Bottom Lounge here in Chicago. Look for the Victory Records release soon in stores near you.
Recently Doug mastered the upcoming Vans Warped Tour 2009 15th Anniversary Celebration. Featuring artists such as NOFX, Underoath, Rise Against, blink-182, Bad Religion, 3OH!3, and The All-American Rejects. Keep an eye out for this upcoming release available digitally and in stores soon.
Grammy nominated artist Hedreich Nichols had her most recent album mastered by Doug McBride. She had this to say about the completion of her album:
Since there was probably no star shining over Chicago’s Gravity Studios at 2am, we thought we’d announce it here–the baby is born! No, not that baby. And maybe it’s reaching a little to compare the two. Still, we’re proud to announce that the CD is finished! Doug McBride did the mastering with mixing engeneer James Auwarter and his assistant Miela giving valuable inputs. The first couple of reactions have been more than positive and although sudden peace on earth is probably not imminent, you can expect a good sound and rich stories that will hopefully make your corner of the world a tiny bit brighter. We’ll keep you posted on availability, concerts and all that jazz.
On other fronts, Vienna with the Inspirational Singers was exactly that–inspirational. With good music, incredibly beautiful venues like Schonbrunn at Christmastime and the Viennese guildhall (pictured) it was a picture postcard perfect.
